Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will find out tomorrow if N’Golo Kante is ready to start against Manchester United tomorrow, the Daily Star reports.
The French midfielder has been out with a hamstring injury since the start of October on international duty.
It’s no question Conte has missed last season’s player of the year. When speaking in a pre-match press conference earlier today, the Italian gave us an update on Kante’s condition.
Conte is quoted by the Daily Star saying:
“He’s progressing well. We have also tomorrow and then I’ll take the best decision for him, for the team.”
The Daily Star continues to report that Conte could have played the 26-year-old as early as the game against Bournemouth last Saturday.
Looking back, perhaps the manager feels he should have played Kante against Roma after the team’s disappointing 3-0 loss on Tuesday.
After the Bakayoko and Fabregas partnership frailties, Kante’s potential return to the line is much-needed.
Kante scored two goals against United last season. Wouldn’t it be great if he could score against our opponent’s once again.
