Chelsea have reportedly offered N’Golo Kante a lucrative new contract in hope of convincing him to stay at the club long-term.
Kante arrived at Chelsea on the back of a superb campaign with Leicester City. He’s only got better during his time at Stamford Bridge.
The Frenchman has developed into one of the best midfielders in the world. We’re incredibly lucky to have him at the club.
As the Times report, PSG have been linked with a move for Kante. They have the financial power to prise him away from us, which is a concern.
Chelsea have no intention of letting him go, though. The Times believe that a £290K-a-week, five-year contract has been offered to Kante.
That would make him the best-paid player at the club, leapfrogging Eden Hazard, who’s believed to earn around £220K-a-week.
Hopefully that’ll be enough to convince him to stay put. He’s one player we really cannot afford to lose.
