Chelsea are optimistic that Eden Hazard will sign a new lucrative contract extension, according to the Telegraph.
As per the Telegraph, Hazard is well aware of Chelsea’s intentions to tie him down to a new deal and is looking to exploit that to his advantage, securing his place at the very top of the Blues’ pay structure.
It is reported that the Belgian’s new contract could be worth as much as £300K-a-week, which works out at £15.6M-a-year! Chelsea are thought to be optimistic that he will commit his future to the Premier League champions, but it is so far unclear how soon he will do so.
The Telegraph believe that Hazard’s head has not been turned by interest from Real Madrid, and the 26-year-old is happy with life in West London – especially after the arrival of his brother Kylian.
This is great news. The sooner Hazard signs a new deal, the better. He is both our most talented and influential player, and he’s only going to get better.
