Maurizio Sarri has reportedly been released from his Napoli contract after Chelsea finally coughed up the cash.
Sarri’s release clause at Napoli expired at the beginning of June. Chelsea had the option to pay €8M in order to release him from his contract at Napoli. We decided against it.
Chelsea fans have grown frustrated, wondering what Marina Granovskaia was waiting for. Our reluctance has effectively wasted an entire month of the summer transfer window.
According to Il Mattino, Sarri has now been release from his Napoli contract, after Chelsea agreed to pay the Serie A side a fee in the region of €5M.
Was it really worth wasting so much time in the transfer market for the sake of €3M? Considering the finances also involved in Antonio Conte’s dismissal, it probably was.
Either way, the hard work starts now, for Sarri and Granovskaia. They must work hand-in-hand to strengthen our squad ahead of the new season.
It’s quite the task, good luck, guys.
