Ballon D'or

Eden Hazard has revealed who he believes will win the upcoming Ballon D’Or – and it’s not himself.

You could argue that Hazard is one of the most deserving of this year’s Ballon D’Or. Even disregarding his recent form, in a World Cup year, the vote is almost always determined by who was most successful in the competition.

Hazard captained Belgium to the semi-finals of the World Cup. Had they managed to edge past France and reach the final, there’s little doubt that he would have been named player of the tournament.

However, The Red Devils fell at the final hurdle, and Luka Modric was named player of the tournament. The Real Madrid midfielder also lifted the Champions League, which is why he is Hazard’s tip to win the Ballon D’Or.

Hazard is quoted by the Express saying:

“I don’t think I’m going to win it,” Hazard said. “In my opinion, Modric deserves it. There are three to four players. I could say Varane because he won a lot too. could deserve it too, let’s not lie.”

Modric is the most likely winner of this year’s Ballon D’Or, but if Hazard continues performing in the manner that he has so far this season, he will be in with a shout of bagging the next one.
