Antonio Conte has reportedly prepared a pre-season plan for his players, just in case he isn’t sacked. This is getting ridiculous.
Conte has been a dead man walking for some time now. The Italian will pay the price for his failures. Chelsea may have capped off the campaign by lifting the FA Cup, but finishing outside of the top four positions when defending the title is unforgivable.
Maurizio Sarri has been widely considered the frontrunner to replace Conte at Stamford Bridge. Negotiations to take Sarri to Chelsea have been stretched out over the space of the past month – and we’re still yet to reach a conclusion.
The chances of Conte seeing out the remainder of his Chelsea contract appear slim, but someone ought to give him the memo…
