We have some awful news to bring you regarding Eden Hazard. Don’t worry, he’s not going anywhere, but we won’t see his famous knee-slide on the Stamford Bridge turf anymore.
Hazard, like Drogba, is known for digging his knees into the dirt and sliding towards the fans after finding the back of the net. It’s made for some iconic moments, and iconic photos in the TalkChelsea image library.
However, he’s never going to do it again. Hazard has revealed that he hurt himself attempting to pull off the knee-slide while celebrating against Liverpool, and is adamant he will not be making the same mistake again.
The Belgian wizard is quoted by Chelsea TV (via the Daily Mail) saying:
“Look, look, the celebration – the sliding knee. I need to stop this.”
“My knees – they are on fire! No more of this celebration.”
Hazard’s wellbeing is our number one priority, even if we will miss the celebration. If he did his knee and was out for the season, it would be an incalculable blow to our title and top four chances.
