Eden Hazard suffered a back injury during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United, according to the Mirror.
Hazard has been in sensational form so far this campaign. The Belgian is currently the outright top-scorer in the Premier League, having found the back of the net seven times during the opening stages of the season.
The 27-year-old is currently producing the level of performances that we have been waiting for ever since he signed from Lille back in the summer of 2012. He is recording the direct goal contributions which match his influence going forward.
It’s for all of the aforementioned reasons that this news comes as such a concern. The Mirror claim that Hazard found himself in some discomfort on Sunday morning. He appears to have suffered a back injury during our draw with the Red Devils.
The severity of the injury is unclear, but we would not expect to see him involved in the Europa League on Thursday night. Hazard is our star performer, we have to wrap him in cotton wool and keep him fit and healthy.
