Eden Hazard has responded to recent claims from Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri that he’s not a natural leader, and to be frank, he doesn’t give a monkeys!

Back in the summer, Hazard captained his country to a World Cup semi-final. Had the pendulum swung in Belgium’s favour, he could easily have been returning to West London with a winners’ medal around his neck. You’d think he proved his captain’s credentials.

He hasn’t managed to convince Maurizio Sarri, though. Earlier in the week the Italian accused Hazard of lacking leadership qualities. He revealed his belief that the winger is more of an individual than someone capable of driving the team forward.

Hazard may well have thought that these comments were a little disrespectful. After all, he was very much in contention to be named our next captain after Gary Cahill, having already been awarded the honour for his nation. Regardless, they don’t appear to have got him down.

Sarri himself said that he prefers when Hazard does his talking with his feet – and he did against Tottenham last night. He did find time after the game for some words in response to his manager, though, and to put it plainly, he couldn’t care less what Sarri has to say.
