Gonzalo Higuain looks primed to start Chelsea’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, with Olivier Giroud picking up an injury during our win over Tottenham.
Maurizio Sarri opted to ditch the false 9 system last night. It didn’t work during the first leg, with Spurs’ defence proving to be too tough a nut for Eden Hazard to crack. The inclusion of Olivier Giroud may also have been to begin preparation for Gonzalo Higuain’s integration.
Hazard is poised to move back to the left-wing position, with Pedro, Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi battling it out for minutes over on the right. Higuain will be surrounded by quality. We dearly hope it’s enough for him to bang in the goals for us this season.
By the look of things, Higuain will have his first chance to do so on Sunday evening, as Chelsea host Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup. As revealed by Standard Sport journalist Simon Johnson, Olivier Giroud has picked up an injury, giving Higuain a clear run at the starting eleven.
It is even more likely #Higuaín will make his #cfc debut against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup on Sunday. #Giroud intimated that he suffered an injury to his right leg against #thfc after the game last night.

This might be the perfect opportunity for Higuain to get his first minutes in a Chelsea shirt. All due respect to Sheffield Wednesday, you’d fancy him to bag a goal or two if he were start, which would do wonders for his confidence early on in his Chelsea career.
