Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus on an initial six-month loan deal. Welcome, Gonzalo!

Gonzalo Higuain joins Radamel Falcao on the list of strikers who were linked with a move to Chelsea for every passing transfer window, before the move finally did materialise for them – perhaps later than both parties would have hoped for.

Regardless, what we have craved since the minute Alvaro Morata pulled on a Chelsea shirt was a centre-forward who we could rely on to find the back of the net on a regular basis. In Higuain we have that, his age is merely a minor detail.

in wake of Higuain’s transfer to Chelsea being officially announced, the Argentine was pictured shaking hands with Marina. We have a feeling that he’s going to feel comfortable in the famous Chelsea shade of blue.

We have to give credit for Marina Granovskaia to straying away from the type of business she would prefer to conduct in order to provide the manager with the striker he desires. This deal is low-risk, potentially high-reward. We can’t wait to see Higuain get started and begin banging in the goals.

this would be a great opportunity to get some of the younger strikers back from loan, and let them learn from a tried and tested striker.
