Eden Hazard has revealed his ambition to win the Ballon D’Or, and the players that he feels will be his main competitors for it, report Sky Sports.

The Ballon D’Or is the most coveted personal accolade in football. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have dominated in recent seasons, but they are not going to be around forever. Eventually the time will come for them to step aside and there will be some fresh faces on the podium.

One of them could be Eden Hazard. The Belgian is certainly good enough to win it at some point in the future, and he has revealed that he is aiming to do so. Sky Sports quote the Chelsea winger, who says:

“I hope to win the Ballon d’Or one day. It’s in my mind. If I don’t, it won’t be a problem. I try to make a good career – the best I can – but I think some other players deserve to win it also.”

Hazard will not be the only player looking to take advantage of Ronaldo and Messi’s demise, however. He believes that there are three players in particular, as well as himself, who are capable of winning it, as Sky Sports report:

“When Ronaldo and Messi retire, maybe it will be another couple of players like Neymar, Paulo Dybala or Antoine Griezmann, who knows? We will see.”
