Though Gonzalo Higuain will not be able to make his Chelsea debut vs. Arsenal this weekend, he should be registered in time for Spurs – who ought to be utterly terrified!
The Premier League deadline has passed for Gonzalo Higuain to be registered in time to face Arsenal this weekend. With Chelsea paying a visit to fifth-place Gunners tomorrow evening, Maurizio Sarri will no doubt have loved to have him involved.
Higuain is closing in on a move to Stamford Bridge. Sarri may have denied knowledge of the deal in his pre-match press conference, but it’s the worst kept secret in football at the minute. We expect this one to be completed imminently.
We’ll have to stomach either Olivier Giroud as a striker or Eden Hazard in the false 9 role at the Emirates, but by the look of things it’ll be the last game we will have to endure without Sarri having a world-class, goal-scoring centre-forward at his disposal.
With Chelsea hosting Tottenham at Stamford Bridge next week in the Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg, Higuain will be provided with a swift opportunity to win over the hearts of the Blues faithful. If he fires us to Wembley, he’ll be an instant hero.
Spurs ought to be incredibly concerned by the prospect of Higuain lining up against them, too. The Sun tweeted out the below graphic on Friday, showing just how good a record Higuain has in his previous appearances against Tottenham.

More of the same on Thursday night please, Gonzalo!
