Chelsea winger Willian, though supposedly happy at Chelsea, has revealed that he’s targeting a reunion with former manager Jose Mourinho.
Following speculation linking Willian with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, the Brazilian has been quick to insist that he is happy at Chelsea and his head was never turned.
One of the clubs that were thought to be after Willian this summer is Manchester United, who as you well know, are managed by former Blue Jose Mourinho.
Willian’s latest comments are not likely to go down too well among the Chelsea faithful. The 29-year-old has sung the praises of our former boss, as well as revealing his desire to work with him once again some day.
He’s quoted by Sky Sports saying:
“Mourinho is the best manager I’ve ever worked with. We have a good relationship, we are friends.”
“Sometimes we talk, we text, we send messages to each other via WhatsApp. He is a great manager, I really enjoyed working with him. I hope I can work with him again someday.”
These comments will only intensify rumours that Willian could sign for Man United, as we’re sure he will have been aware of. It’s a strange decision for him to go public with his desire at this time.
