Reports suggest that Chelsea pair N’Golo Kante and Alvaro Morata may be available for matchday 3 of the Champions League.
N’Golo Kante will be heading back to the club as the medical team assesses his condition after injuring his hamstring, Sky Sports report.
Kante came off in the first half against Bulgaria on international duty with France as he was noticeably uncomfortable walking off the pitch.
However, according to Sky Sports, the 26-year-old may be available for Tuesday night’s game against Roma but won’t feature against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Telegraph reports that the Blues are also desperate to get Alvaro Morata fit for the Champions League match next Wednesday, even though the striker declared he could play against Palace.
This is good news as the Spanish Football Federation thought that Morata could be out for up to six weeks, as reported by the BBC.
Although, even if Morata does make progression in his recovery, its unlikely manager Antonio Conte will play the 24-year-old at Selhurst Park in the hope he will be fully fit for the visit to Rome.
More details of the pair’s injuries will be known in Conte’s press conference on Friday.
But it’s safe to say that Kante and Morata will be back sooner rather than later.
