N’Golo Kante has been discussing his developing partnership with midfield partner Tiemoue Bakayoko, report the Metro.
Kante enjoyed a stellar debut campaign in a Chelsea shirt alongside Nemanja Matic, who had previously been influential in another Premier League title triumph. When the Serb departed, there were concerns that it would leave a gaping hole in the middle of the park, but Bakayoko has wasted no time in plugging it.
It is still very much early days, but Bakayoko looks to have been an extremely shrewd acqusition, and he’s only going to get better and better growing under the stewardship of Antonio Conte and alongside compatriot N’Golo Kante.
Kante appears to be extremely optimistic about the future playing alongside Bakayoko – and why shouldn’t he be? The former Leicester City man is quoted by the Metro saying:
“Game after game, we are becoming more confident together. We are trying to produce what the coach wants us to and things are working quite well.”
If we are going to be successfull both domestically and in Europe this term, Kante and Bakayoko will likely be the foundation of it. It’s going to be a joy to watch.
