Maurizio Sarri has insinuated his discontent at the situation surrounding Willian.
Willian has reported late back to Chelsea training, citing passport issues as the reason for his absence.
The Brazilian was entitled to time off following his involvement in the World Cup, but should have returned by now.
Willian was pictured at an airport in San Paolo on Wednesday, presumably heading to London. It may be too late in Sarri’s eyes, though.
Following Chelsea’s pre-season clash with Arsenal on Wednesday evening, Sarri admitted his frustration with the situation.
He did, however, add that he would like to speak to Willian personally in order to have a better idea of what has happened here.
He’s quoted by Star Sport saying:
“I want to speak to him before I answer these questions. I don’t know. I want to speak to him.”
“I am not happy about the situation but before answering I would like to talk to him.”
Amid continual links with Real Madrid and Manchester United, you’d think it wise that Willian would avoid doing anything to complicate matters further.
He has, though, and Sarri’s not a happy man.
