Reflecting on Chelsea’s heavy loss to Manchester City, N’Golo Kante has insisted that the players will learn from their mistakes. They bloody better!
Kante was scarcely involved during our 6-0 loss at the Etihad. In truth, there’s little he could have done to prevent it. Our defence capitulated time and time again, with our midfield being both outnumbered and outclassed.
There’s little point reflecting on a performance as forgettable and embarrassing as ours on Sunday, all Maurizio Sarri and the squad can do is look forward and ensure that the same mistakes are not made again this campaign.
By the sound of things, that’s exactly Kante’s intention. Speaking to the club’s official website following the loss to Pep Guardiola’s men, The Frenchman revealed his disappointment, but also his motivation to improve in wake of the loss:
“It’s a great disappointment and we have to react. It’s difficult to accept such a heavy defeat, but we have a lot of matches coming up to lift our heads and give us hope for good results at the end of this season.”
“We all have disappointment etched across our faces. But we`ve got a lot to learn from this, and hopefully we will not repeat the same mistakes in the future.”
We hope that the rest of the squad share’s Kante’s outlook. Out of all of the players Sarri has at his disposal, he’s one of few who have done themselves justice this season. Keep going, N’Golo, and give Marcos Alonso a kick in training from us.
