Marco van Ginkel’s impact at loan side PSV appears to be forgotten by those in authority at Chelsea as the club have slapped a £10m price-tag on the 25-year-old.
As per Football.London, van Ginkel may be part of a major clearout at Chelsea in an important summer of a potential squad rebuild.
The Blues have had an astonishing 38 players out on loan this season as the use of upcoming talent has been criticised by many, including Chelsea supporters.
After failing to get into the West-London side’s first-team along with a disappointing loan spell at Stoke City, van Ginkel hasn’t been able to prove himself on the big stage.
However, his performances for PSV have certainly gone unnoticed by the board with this low asking price being set. Van Ginkel has scored 14 league goals as he’s gone on to lead his temporary team to the Eredivisie title. It appears Chelsea want to make minimal profit at the very least on a player we signed for £8m in 2013 from Vitesse Arnhem.
Perhaps being settled in his native Holland has settled van Ginkel but with Antonio Conte’s likely departure, a new manager could see the midfielder as a useful player.
