In what’s set to be a whirlwind of transfer talks between Real Madrid and Chelsea this summer, a highly-rated Blues asset is prepared to move to the Spanish capital.
As per Mundo Deportivo, Thibaut Courtois may have just put the final nail in the coffin in cementing an opportunity to leave Stamford Bridge for the Santiago Bernabeu.
The report states that Spanish journalist José Ramón de la Morena believes Courtois is ready to wait for his contract to expire in 2019 to make his Chelsea exit.
This can only fuel speculation of Courtois’ departure from the club at the end of the season as the board won’t want to let the Belgian go on his terms as they may cash in on the team’s first-choice goalkeeper sooner rather than later.
Whilst the 25-year-old has been of great service to his club in winning two Premier League titles since replacing Petr Cech in 2015, his attitude in constantly talking to the press warrants the club to give Courtois the boot.
Even though he may only have a year left on his contract, Chelsea will use Real’s financial resources in squeezing every penny for last season’s Premier League golden gloves winner.
