Chelsea thrashed Arsenal 3-0 on Saturday lunchtime in a surprisingly energetic display in Beijing. The Blues looked sharp and attacked with pace and purpose.

Manager Antonio Conte would have enjoyed watching this one as his intense pre-season regime seems to be paying off.

Conte said after the game that he is concerned about the size of his squad and would be looking to add numbers. He even spoke via the Daily Mail claiming that there could be another new arrival joining up in Singapore, where the club play there last two games of the tour.

So who might be arriving? There have been reports that Conte wants to add another right-wing-back, left-wing-back, midfielder, striker and perhaps even another winger.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea will attempt to open up negotiations with Arsenal this week with the view to signing midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The 23-year old is refusing to negotiate a new deal with Arsene Wenger’s side and wants to leave.

Conte would appreciate the England international’s work-rate, strength and direct style of play. He is also very versatile meaning he can slot into a number of the aforementioned positions.

In terms of the full-back positions, Chelsea appear to have been trumped by Manchester City on a number of targets, with both AS Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy and Danilo of Real Madrid both looking set to move to the Etihad this week.

Chelsea are said to be still negotiating with Juventus for Alex Sandro and that deal is not dead, especially when you consider that the Serie A side want to sign Chelsea midfielder Nemnja Matic. You would believe that there is possibility a deal could materialise here.

Ryan Bertrand is also on the list, although it’s been said that his current employers Southampton will snub any approach for the 27-year-old.

One rumour that refuses to go away is Conte’s alleged admiration of Swansea striker Fernando Llorente.

According to reports, he wants three strikers for the long campaign with the added games in Europe. Swansea, however, may price the Spaniard out of a move, as they previously did in January.

Finally, Chelsea are close to landing 20-year old Brazilian attacker Richarlison, according to Sky Italia.

It’s more than likely, however, that the Brazilian youth international would join the Chelsea loan army departing to Vitesse for the season.
