Chelsea should sell £60m striker to fund crucial rebuild

Spanish radio last night was going through the plans of Atletico Madrid for this summer, and there was one key element to the plans of Diego Simeone’s team.

Antoine Griezmann looks as though he may decide to leave this summer, and Diego Costa’s future is very uncertain too. That means the Spanish team are desperately looking for some options up top, and Alvaro Morata looks to have been given the green light to stay.

Spanish radio COPE reported that the rojiblancos want to make his loan deal – which is still set to run throughout next season – permanent.

We paid £60m to Real Madrid for him, and if we get offered that money by Atleti we should jump at it.

That would give us £60m to buy a striker, along with the £100m coming in from the sale of Hazard to Real to fund a winger.

That would mean two new first team players next season, a good start to a summer which may see major moves if we’re set to be banned in the future.

I doubt that Morata can really fetch £60 Million. But with the current pricing, anything is possible. On the other hand, if Coutinho was worth £142 million, then Hazard should be valued at in excess of £180 million
