You either love the transfer window, or you hate it.
It is filled with rumours, speculation, predictions, more rumours, more speculation, and eventually when we are all old and grey, and announcement of a new signing.
But I am guessing that the fact you have arrived at this article means that you are a fan of what is aptly known as ‘silly season.’
Personally I love it, I write about it daily and the adrenaline and buzz appeals to me, even more so as a Chelsea fan during this moment.
This is because this transfer window, that runs until the end of October, is set to be an exciting and busy one for us Chelsea fans.
Old faces will leave, and new faces will arrive. We have already lost both Pedro and Willian, but we expect more departures.
Here are my predictions for arrivals, and I’ve even tried to predict what order they will arrive in. These are my predictions, so please remember that I am not mystic meg…
Kai Havertz –
We all know the story here, the general consensus is that Chelsea are just negotiating a fee and are confident of getting an agreement, with personal terms already agreed.
However, my thoughts are that the deal is actually further along than reported and that any more negotiations are about how much is paid up front, and how the deal is structured and the amount of add-ons Chelsea will need to pay.
Ben Chilwell –
Not the popular choice, and not my first choice. But he is Frank’s, and he is also rated highly by one of the best ever left back’s to play the game – Ashley Cole.
This is a deal that I believe will happen very soon after Havertz, I also feel that it is much further along than being reported seeing as Chelsea have been negotiating this one with Leicester for the last two months. The key details are being kept under wraps – probably until the announcement is set.
Declan Rice –
Chelsea probably haven’t bid for him yet, as what was rumoured yesterday. But they most certainly have already opened a dialogue with West Ham to test the waters. I can see this happening.
Andre Onana –
Due to Frank Lampard clearly not rating Kepa Arrizabalaga at all, and Onana’s cheap £30 million fee, I think this will be done as well.
Lewis Dunk (My wildcard) –
I’m not so sure this will happen, but there is a chance Chelsea go for a centre back as well depending on who they sell at the back, if any.
Dunk fits the bill of exactly what Lampard wants at the heart of his defence, so certainly don’t rule this deal out.
Strap yourselves in for a bumpy ride!
