Chelsea winger Eden Hazard missed out on the PFA Team of the Year, which was announced today.
Despite a great season, the Belgian was omitted to make space for Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Sadio Mane in the front 3.
You would think that’s hard to argue against. All three are battling in historically good teams for a hotly contested title. Hazard has been brilliant dragging an average Chelsea team forward, but he’s not the only good player to miss out.
The club put out a post on their website featuring all his stats from the season so far, and Tweeted it out just after the team was announced with a “thinking emoji”, which you can see here:

Frankly, this is not a good look. Yes it’s an easy way to get popular with Chelsea fans, but it also makes us a laughing stock for other clubs.
We look petty and bitter, when we should just be congratulating the players who did make it.
If the club had surrounded our star man with some better teammates, he might well be in that team, and in fact we might be fighting for a title.
So before they start throwing around thinking emojis about the PFA, maybe they need to throw a few thinking emojis at their own actions in the last couple of seasons.
