Many Chelsea fans made it a point to voice their opinions on social media in order to urge manager Maurizio Sarri to have more faith in the young players of the club, especially after a very impressive performance against Brighton. Sarri gave very rare starting positions to Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus- Cheek and Andreas Christensen who were previously nurtured in the club’s academy.

Loftus-Cheek managed to get his name on the score sheet showing why he must start games consistently, while Hudson-Odoi combined very brilliantly to assist Oliver Giroud’s opener, and Christensen assembled the defence in a very mature manner- a quality that is very rare in a player who is so young. All three young players shone through bringing in an easy 3-0 victory for the Blues.

A crucial victory

This victory was very critical for the club as they try to ensure that they keep up with their rivals in the top four. Looking at Chelsea’s performance on Wednesday night, fans made sure they voiced their opinions and proclaimed that Sarri might just have the formula that will ensure that they get a taste of football in the Champions League next season. This has also given a new ring of certainty to the odds offered by bookies for those looking to get in on the action by betting on the next Champions League

Looking at the fervour that the young trio displayed against Brighton and also Tottenham’s insipid current form, they might just end up in the top 4 by the end of the season and would upend all expectations that both fans and bookies had in the first place.

If the youngsters start again in the upcoming game versus West Ham, bookmakers are of the opinion that the odds would definitely be in favour of Chelsea.

These are the sort of strong odds that more cautious gamblers love, as opposed to the more far out odds where the payouts are huge but the risk is even bigger. Combine excellent odds like 3/1 with a keen eye on how the tournament progresses will make all the difference in the world because, unlike other forms of gambling, sports betting may rely somewhat on luck but it’s also very much about knowing who to place your money on and why. Knowing about the sports and the teams is crucial but adding that to the bookie’s odds and you have an ability to make some genuinely smart, strategic bets.

The pickup after the game versus Brighton

The 3-0 victory over Brighton was definitely a boost for Chelsea, especially considering the fact that the larger part of the contribution came from the younger players. Hudson-Odoi was in the thick of the action and consistently used his trickery and pace to create a huge impact in the game.

He also became the youngest player to create an assist in his first Premier League start. Thus, it was not a surprise when he was awarded the man of the match award. Sarri is of the belief that both he and Loftus-Cheek are ready to start every game for the London club as they both not only contribute in the attack but defensively as well.

Incentive for Hudson-Odoi to stay

It is well-known that owing to the abilities that Hudson-Odoi has, top-flight European clubs such as Bayern Munich have shown interest in the striker. In January he had even submitted a transfer request to Chelsea as he was in search of game time, and at that point of time, he was not provided much of the same.

However, the start against Brighton could be the start of something new for him, and could perhaps rekindle an interest in him to stick with the club. Taking into consideration the fact that he had been a club since the time when he was only eight years of age, sentiment might also be a big reason in addition to the playing time for him to stick with the club.
