Chelsea defeated Sunderland 5-1 to finish the Premier League season in style.

Sunderland took the lead early on, as Manquillo dented Thibaut Courtois’ chances of being the outright winner of the Premier League Golden Glove. The former Liverpool full-back thumped home from close range to rain on Chelsea’s champions parade. You can see the Spaniard’s opener here.

Chelsea were not going to allow the relegated Black Cats to ruin their special day, as Willian found an equaliser. It looked as though the Chelsea players were attempting to pass the ball into the back of the net, but Willian gambled, and his effort found it’s way through Jordan Pickford and into the back of the Sunderland net. Sunderland frustrated Chelsea until the 60th minute, but as he often does, Eden Hazard came up with the goods. The Belgian isolated a Sunderland defender and beat Pickford with an emphatic finish. It was his 16th Premier League goal of the season, his best goal haul to date. Click here to see it.

Chelsea were not done there, however, and Pedro got his name on the scoresheet. After a lofted ball from Cesc Fabregas, Joleon Lescott headed the ball over his own goalkeeper, allowing Pedro a simple finish. It was a goal that summed up Sunderland’s calamitous season, and sealed the champions their 30th win of the campaign. You can see the final goal of our Premier League campaign here.

Pedro then turned provider, and Michy Batshuayi bagged his third goal in as many games. Pedro slotted the ball through the Sunderland defence, and Batshuayi directed his shot through Pickford’s legs on the stretch.

Batshuayi then added another, firing home from the edge of the box with his left foot. It was an impressive cameo from the Belgian, who may well have staked his claim for a start at Wembley.
