Chelsea and Inter Milan are reportedly considering a mutually beneficial swap-deal which could see Davide Zappacosta leave the club this summer.
At the time of Zappacosta’s arrival, the London Evening Standard reported that the deal could be worth up to £27M. He is yet to justify that hefty price-tag – and he may never get a chance to if this report is to be believed.
According to Calciomercato, Inter Milan are interested in signing Zappacosta this summer, as they hunt for a replacement for Joao Cancelo, who spent last season on-loan at the San Siro from Valencia.
The Italian publication believe that Inter could attempt to use Chelsea’s interest in Matías Vecino to their advantage and offer the midfielder in exchange for Zappacosta.
Maurizio Sarri is thought to be a long-term admirer of Vecino. He could finally secure a deal to sign the Uruguayan this summer. Will he be prepared to sacrifice Zappacosta in order to do so? We’ll have to wait and see.
