Chelsea are interested in signing Bayern Munich left-back David Alaba – but it’s unlikely that the Austrian will be making the move to Stamford Bridge anytime soon, according to German publication Bild (via The Sun).
Alaba has firmly established himself among the best players in his position in the world. A left-back by trade, he has also proven himself able to play in midfield. His supreme quality and versatility would be of great use to any side, and as per The Sun, Chelsea are interested in adding him to their ranks.
Manchester United are also thought to be interested, however, it is claimed that Alaba would only consider leaving the Allianz Arena for one of Real Madrid or Barcelona. The two sides are very much the world’s elite, and thus it comes as no surprise that he is dreaming of representing them.
Both Chelsea and Man United will have to look elsewhere in their respective pursuits of summer reinforcements.
