Chelsea have contacted the entourage of Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain ahead of a potential summer move, according to Calciomercato.

Earlier today, it was claimed that Higuain was open to the idea of moving to Stamford Bridge this summer. The Argentine enjoyed the most prolific period of his career during his time at the Stadio San Paolo under Sarri’s stewardship. He appears keen to replicating that goal-scoring form in the Premier League. We certainly wouldn’t complain…

Higuain may well have his wish granted, as Calciomercato believe Higuain is a priority summer target for Roman Abramovich and Chelsea. Chelsea are thought to already be in contact with the player’s representatives, with the Blues set to submit an offer in the region of €50M.

Higuain may be the wrong side of 30, but he’d still be a very logical signing. Whatever we spend on signing him would be paid back if he were able to fire us back into the Champions League. Let’s get it done.
