Speculation linking Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic with Chelsea has been mostly dismissed by Chelsea fans – but wrongly.
Pjanic seemingly has no reason to leave Turin, especially after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. He has a real chance of winning the Champions League next season.
Juventus are surely under no pressure to sell, either. Pjanic would likely play a considerable role in the team next season, he’s not the type you’d usually consider expendable.
However, Chelsea’s interest in Pjanic may not be long-shot after all. According to the Times, the idea of signing him didn’t originate from us.
In fact, it’s claimed that Pjanic was offered to us. It’s unclear whether we would have had the remotest interest in signing him if not for that.
Question marks still remain. Would he be interested in joining us? Can we afford him? Does Maurizio Sarri want him?
There’s just a couple of weeks left in the transfer window. We imagine we’ll have the answers to all of these very soon.
