Chelsea have reportedly identified two potential striker targets ahead of the January transfer window.
The Blues are in dire need of a new centre-forward. Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud, though both possess their respective qualities, have proven themselves unable to carry the goal-scoring burden of being Chelsea’s starting striker.
If we want to be genuine challengers for the Premier League title, and defeat Liverpool and Manchester City in the race to win the trophy, some further firepower in attack could be required.
According to The Sun, two strikers have been lined up as potential targets, and both reside in the city of Milan. Inter’s Mauro Icardi or AC Milan’s Patrick Cutrone have both reportedly been added to our transfer list.
Icardi is already established as one of the best strikers in the world, but would be incredibly hard to recruit mid-season. Cutrone looks destined for the top, but it’s unclear whether AC Milan would be prepared to part with him.
Marina Granovskaia will no doubt be exploring our options ahead of the opening of the January transfer window. Only time will tell if our interest in either of these two players is taken further.
