Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Napoli centre-back Raul Albiol this summer.

With former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri poised to fill Antonio Conte’s shoes as manager of Chelsea, it comes as no surprise that we are being linked with a host of the Italian side’s players. Especially when you consider their success last time around. They came agonisingly close to interrupting Juventus’ period of dominance in Serie A.

According to the Mirror, former Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol has emerged as a summer target for the Blues. At 32-years-old, we could only offer him a rolling one-year deal. He would, however, add an accomplished and experienced option at the back.

With the departures of John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic in recent seasons, Chelsea could do with the aforementioned qualities. If Sarri does eventually sign along the dotted line and become Chelsea manager, don’t be surprised if Albiol follows in his footsteps.
