Chelsea have named their price for Manchester United and Barcelona winger Willian – and he won’t be allowed to leave on the cheap.
The Brazilian has enjoyed spells of excellent form during his time as a Chelsea player, but he has never been productive enough to elevate himself to the next level.
This is despite picking up accolades at the Chelsea end of season awards on two occasions, both in 2015/16 and in 2017/18.
Willian is often salivated over by rival fans, who tune in to watch him sporadically and catch him on a good day. The reality is, though talented, the 29-year-old is incredibly inconsistent.
We’re all aware of that, but neither of Man United or Barcelona appear to have got the memo. Both teams are thought to be interested in signing Willian this summer.
According to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea will demand £70M in exchange for their reigning players’ player of the year this summer. It remains to be seen if either interested party would be prepared to pay that amount.
