Chelsea have been told exactly how much they’ll have to pay to sign AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan this summer.
The Blues have been linked with a move to sign the combative Belgian midfielder for several consecutive summers now.
The move has never materialised, with AS Roma standing firm on their valuation and Nainggolan reluctant to push for a move away from the Stadio Olimpico.
The situation has changed, with AS Roma now being more open to the idea of selling Nainggolan. It may, though, be too late.
According to Football Italia, AS Roma are prepared to sell Nainggolan if an offer in the region of £35M comes in.
That’s a realistic valuation of a player who is still one of the best in his role anywhere on the planet, but that doesn’t necessarily mean Chelsea will pay it.
Nainggolan is now 30-years-old, meaning Chelsea can only offer him a one-year rolling contract. It’s club policy.
It seems unlikely we’d fork out such a hefty figure on a player who we could lose on a free in just 12-months. It wouldn’t be logical.
