Chelsea are reportedly hoping to sign Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish ahead of arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Grealish is still considered one of the most promising young players in English football, despite his development hitting a few bumps in the road.
The 22-year-old was back to his best last season, leading Villa to the playoff final. They narrowly fell short at the final hurdle, losing to Fulham at Wembley.
He looks ready to compete in the Premier League, and there doesn’t appear to be any shortage of interest in giving him a chance in the country’s top tier.
As The Sun report, Tottenham were previously considered favourites to sign Grealish, but Chelsea won’t let the move go through without putting up a fight.
It’s claimed that Chelsea are set to launch a £20M move to sign Grealish from Villa. That may well be enough to convince them to sell considering their financial difficulties.
