Chelsea are thought to be preparing a bid to sign Lazio attacker Felipe Anderson, who has been heavily linked with West Ham United.
You’d think it strange for Chelsea to be competing with West Ham for a player’s signature. That’s the nature of the English game nowadays, though, even the smallest of clubs have cash to splash.
Felipe Anderson is a player who was pursued by all the world’s top clubs several years ago, but a move away from Lazio never materialised. His development has subsequently stunted. A move away from Rome could be exactly what he needs.
Chelsea could be set to offer him a lifeline. According to Il Tempo, the Blues would like to provide Maurizio Sarri with Felipe Anderson this summer. It’s believed we will soon lodge a €30M bid for the 25-year-old.
Willian and Pedro will be the wrong side of 30 come the end of the year. It’s unclear at this point whether the former will even be a Chelsea player when the new season begins.
Don’t be surprised to see Chelsea linked with players with a similar profile in the coming weeks.
