There are four teams in the race to sign Alvaro Morata, according to Cadena Cope, with Sevilla seemingly dropping out of the race to sign him.
Morata has the ability to score goals, but not the mentality to succeed. The latter was what Diego Costa had in abundance, thus it’s a stark juxtaposition between the two Spaniards who attempted to make the Premier League their hunting ground.
He can oftentimes cut a forlorn figure, devoid of confidence and even a modicum of self-belief. It’s hard to imagine him performing consistently when even he has little faith in his own ability. Chelsea may now have given up on him, but others have not.
Cadena Cope are under the impression that there is a belief on the continent that Morata has talent which requires the correct conditions in order to harness it. There are teams with real pedigree being linked with the Real Madrid product.
Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Monaco and Atletico Madrid are all thought to be keen. Whether any of them will push forward with their interest this month is unclear. There is also a doubt as to whether there would be any willingness to purchase him permanently.
We shall see.
