Antonio Conte looks set to battle Liverpool for the signature of promising Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, reports the Telegraph.
As per the Telegraph, Liverpool have already seen a sizable bid of £55 million for the winger rejected by the French champions, who are insisting that the 21-year-old is not for sale at any price.
However, the same paper reports that if Monaco should chance their position on the sale of Lemar, Chelsea would be very interested in taking the France international to Stamford Bridge and would be willing to enter a bidding war with their Premier League rivals in order to land the starlet.
The London club look to have already defeated Liverpool in one transfer battle this summer with Sky Sports revealing yesterday that the reigning Premier League champions had agreed a deal with Arsenal for the transfer of Liverpool target Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.
The Blues have already enjoyed successful negotiations with Monaco this summer, agreeing a deal for France central midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, who joined at the end of July.
