Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has reportedly emerged as a target for AC Milan.
Fabregas featured frequently throughout pre-season, but has missed the opening four games of the Premier League season through injury.
He appears to be well equipped to succeed in Maurizio Sarri’s system, but the Italian has a wealth of options to choose from in the middle of the park. Fabregas could find game-time hard to come by.
If he does decide that the time as come to leave Chelsea, AC Milan are thought to be waiting in the wings to pounce and sign him.
The Express report that AC Milan could make a move to sign Fabregas in January. He would have just six months remaining on his contract at that point, meaning he’d be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any interested parties.
It seems likely that Chelsea would look to receive some kind of fee in exchange for Fabregas, rather than losing him on a free.
This is one to keep an eye on through the winter…
