Chelsea have not yet made an offer for Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek, according to his agent.
Piatek is currently the top goal-scorer in Europe’s top five leagues, yet you could be forgiven if his name doesn’t ring a bell.
The 23-year-old only left his native Poland in the summer, but has scored nine goals in his opening seven Serie A appearances.
His adaptation to life in the big-time has been rather astonishing, and it’s thought to have landed him on Chelsea’s transfer radar. Could the Polish international be on his way Stamford Bridge? Use LeoVegas Sport to bet on the outcome.
However, Piatek’s agent, Szymon Pacanowski, has revealed that no formal offer has been made for his client. He’s quoted by the Metro saying:
“Many clubs have contacted us, but there has been no formal offer. Many clubs have contacted us over the last few weeks, but I won’t name them.”
We wouldn’t have expected anything different. A couple of months of good form is not enough to earn you a move to Chelsea.
Nor do we conduct our transfer business in October. The summer window has not been shut for long and January is not yet on the horizon.
We can wait and see how our ‘interest’ in Piatek develops throughout the season.
