Chelsea are reportedly willing to part with Olivier Giroud, having only signed the Frenchman in January.

Giroud was drafted in from Arsenal after we missed out on Edin Dzeko. He penned an 18-month deal, allowing Chelsea to sign a player over 30 and not defy club-policy.

The Frenchman proved to be a worthy addition. He scored a match-winning brace against Southampton in the Premier League, as well as another against the Saints at Wembley.

Despite the impression he made in his short time as a Chelsea player, Giroud may well not be here much longer.

With Maurizio Sarri arriving, the imprint that Giroud left upon Antonio Conte has now gone. He’s back to square one, with Sarri unprepared to give him a chance to progress.

According to the Mirror, Sarri is willing to sell Giroud this summer. The report claims that we’re looking to make room for the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain, so Giroud may well depart.

Read the above sentence, then imagine we were telling you that a year ago. Entirely bizarre.
