Eden Hazard Lionel Messi

Belgian football expert Kristof Terreur has played down claims that Eden Hazard could make a summer switch to Real Madrid.

Hazard has been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu since the day he stepped foot in the door at Cobham. Speculation has been constant, yet he remains.

With Zinedine Zidane holding the reins at Los Blancos, it seemed like only a matter of time before Hazard linked up with his childhood hero in Madrid.

Zidane has now departed, though, with Hazard still being a Chelsea player.

At 27-years-old, this could be Hazard’s final chance to seal a move to Real Madrid. With the kind of expenditure it’d require to recruit him, they may deem any older as too old.

Kristoff Terreur appears to be in agreement that it’s a case of now or never for Hazard, who has shown no willingness to push through a move to Madrid.

Terreur is quoted by the Express providing an extensive update on the situation surrounding our Belgian superstar:

“I haven’t heard anything about Real Madrid since Zidane left. There’s always been contact with agents and his dad has been in touch with the club too. But when Zidane left it was not going to happen.”

“I think Real Madrid were interested before Zidane left. He was always pushing for Hazard for three years but in a way a deal never materialised for him.”

“For him, it’s always been about his family life and his family have always been very happy in London.”

“It’s not a priority for him to move but if he could make his dream move to Real Madrid he’d take it. He knows it’s now or never, he’s 27 and will become 28 in January, it’s now or never.”

Fingers crossed he decides to stay put…
