  • Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish press appear intent on keeping the Eden Hazard to Real Madrid fire burning, despite the fact that the Belgian is fully focused on the task at hand here in SW6.

Hazard may have been unable to prevent Chelsea falling to an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Tottenham on Saturday evening, but he has been one of the players of the season so far.

Real Madrid are always on the lookout for the best players on the planet, and their interest in signing Hazard is the worst kept secret in football – but that doesn’t necessarily mean the move will ever come to fruition.

Hazard has continually reiterated that he is happy at Chelsea, and we have no doubt that the club will do everything in their power to ensure he stays put. The media in Spain ought to wake up to that reality.

OK Diario have claimed that Chelsea are ‘resigned’ to losing Hazard, who looks set to join Real Madrid either next summer or when his contract comes to an end in 2020.

Where they have got this information from is a mystery to us. As shown with N’Golo Kante’s new long-term contract, the club are willing to stump up the cash in order to keep their star performers.

Hazard may well leave, we’re not ruling anything out, but to suggest that Chelsea have thrown in the towel already is ridiculous.
