Real Madrid are prepared to sell Gareth Bale this summer in order to fund their move to sign AS Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe, and Chelsea could be waiting in the wings to pounce, according to Marca.
Marca claim that Los Blancos have decided that if Mbappe was to arrive in Madrid, one of the ‘BBC’ (Bale, Benzema, Cristiano) would have to depart. The Spanish outlet note that Bale is considered the most disposable of the three.
That could play into Chelsea’s hands, as Marca believe that the Premier League champions are keen to bring the Welshman back to England’s top flight – but there will be numerous hurdles to conquer before we see Bale playing in blue.
Marca report that Manchester United are also interested in securing Bale’s services, and Real Madrid have set an eye-watering £89M asking price for him. Only time will tell if Chelsea’s interest in him is genuine enough to pay that fee.
