Gonzalo Higuain is reportedly due in London today to complete his move to Chelsea in time to face Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Thursday night.
Gonzalo Higuain to Chelsea, that’s pretty much all we’ve been covering over the past couple of weeks. Ever since Marina Granovskaia caved to Maurizio Sarri’s demands and decided to pursue the deal, she has been working tirelessly to get it over the line.
Yet still, Higuain is not a Chelsea player. He was left out of Milan’s match-day squad for their trip to Genoa, but no official confirmation has arrived of his transfer to Chelsea. By the sound of the Express‘ latest report, we might not have to wait much longer.
The Express believe that Higuain will arrive in London today to, presumably undergo a medical, and complete his move to Chelsea. The Argentine will arrive on an initial six-month loan, with the option to extend it for a further year in the summer of 2019.
If the deal is done today, there’s every chance that Higuain will be involved in Thursday’s Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg with Spurs. With Chelsea trailing 1-0 on aggregate heading into the leg at Stamford Bridge, we could really do with him in attack.
