Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte may have found an alternative to signing the much-wanted Alex Sandro has he turns his attentions to pursuing Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw.

As per the Daily Star, Chelsea is prepared to lock horns with several Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

This report claims that Shaw could be offered an escape route. However, it would cost the Blues £20m along with his steep £130k per-week wages.

Shaw’s time at Old Trafford hasn’t been easy suffering multiple injuries and failing to make an impression on Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea’s history with Shaw

Brought up as a Chelsea fan, Shaw was seen as ‘too small’ by Chelsea when he had a trial as an eight-year-old, according to the Telegraph.

When Jose Mourinho came back for his second spell at the club, Shaw was seen as a player the manager liked. However, his high wages put him and the board off so instead Man United paid for his services.

It would be a fairytale move for Shaw if he got the move he may have always wanted. But for Chelsea, his recent injuries and wages may once again put the club off.
