Chelsea youngster Kenedy is on his way to Newcastle United on loan, according to the Daily Mail.

Kenedy arrived at Stamford Bridge while Jose Mourinho held the reins, and was initially given an opportunity to impress in the first-team squad. Mourinho tried Kenedy at both left-wing and left-back, and the Brazilian wasted no time showcasing his talent to ‘The Special One’.

Chelsea winger Kenedy appears to be set to join Newcastle on a season-long loan.

Things haven’t exactly gone to plan for the 21-year-old recently. He endured an unsuccessful loan spell at Watford and was dismissed from Chelsea’s pre-season tour after a string of controversial social media posts. However, he appears to have worked his way back into Antonio Conte’s thinking.

Kenedy played the full 90 minutes for Chelsea against AFC Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Wednesday night, looking both accomplished in defence and dangerous going forward.

At his tender age, however, he needs to be playing regularly, and it looks as though former Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez could be about to offer him a lifeline.

Chelsea sent Kenedy home from their pre-season tour of Asia.

The Daily Mail report that Kenedy’s six-month loan to St. James’ Park has been signed and sealed. It will be officially announced when the January transfer window opens.

This looks like a great opportunity or Kenedy to play regular Premier League football and continue his development. It is also a clear indication that Chelsea
