Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante this summer.
Kante has already written his name into the Premier League hall of fame, despite only arriving in England back in 2015. The Frenchman played a starring role in Leicester City’s 4000/1 Premier League title-triumph. His influence was dearly missed in the middle of the park following his move to Chelsea the following summer.
At Chelsea, Kante became the first ever player to win back-to-back Premier League titles with different clubs. He also scooped the PFA, FWA and PL player of the year awards – and you couldn’t say he didn’t deserve it.
One-year on, Kante faces the reality of life outside of the Champions League once again… or does he? If he remains at Stamford Bridge, the Europa League beckons. However, he may be offered an opportunity to play for Europe’s most coveted prize with a team often thought as one of the frontrunners to win it.
According to Paris United, PSG are set to open negotiations to sign Kante from Chelsea. Kante is not thought to be completely opposed to the idea of returning to Ligue 1, with the Blues thought to be willing to let him go if their €80M valuation is met. That seems cheap for a player of Kante’s quality in this heavily inflated transfer market.
Take this rumour with a pinch of salt…
