Real Madrid are prepared to break the bank in order to land Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, according to the Independent.
Courtois suffered a serious knee injury during the 2015/16 campaign and never appeared to fully recover. He didn’t look as though he trusted the knee and subsequently was caught out by opposing attackers on multiple occasions.
However, after having a full summer to recover, Courtois was back to his best during our Premier League title winning season of 2016/17. He won the Premier League Golden Glove after a stellar campaign, and has continued that superb form into this term, despite the struggles of the defensive line ahead of him.
As per the Independent, his exploits in the Chelsea net have caught the eye of Real Madrid. It is reported that Los Blancos are not only prepared to part with as much as £100M in order to land Courtois, but would also consider parting with some key players in order to get the deal over the line.
It seems plausible that Chelsea could part with Courtois and use it as an opportunity to strengthen their side. What Real Madrid players would you like to see at Stamford Bridge?
