Chelsea are moving hard for Granit Xhaka as they look to add more experience to their team after a bad season.

After announcing last night that Chelsea were interested in Granit Xhaka of Sunderland, Fabrizio Romano has returned today with more details about the deal.
He claims that the agreement on personal terms between the midfielder and Chelsea is “guaranteed”, and it has just become a matter of finding a price that both sides can agree on. Romano claims that Xhaka is “driving the move personally” as he wants to come to Chelsea to reunite with Xabi Alonso, who coached him during his renaissance at Bayern Leverkusen.
It also appears that living in London again is a big factor for Xhaka.
Clubs prepare to negotiate over midfielder
Romano says the “deal depends on the clubs”, and it will be interesting to see where things go from here.
Chelsea will not want to pay a lot for a player who will turn 34 later this year, but Sunderland won’t want to let a key piece go cheaply. It sounds like a fee of around £20m will get the job done.
